A Passion For The Truth

Isaiah 66:2

My hand made all these things, and so they all came into being. This is the LORD’s declaration. I will look favorably on this kind of person: one who is humble, submissive in spirit, and trembles at my word.

The Creator of the universe desires this in His followers,

  1. Humbleness– A person who allows himself to be directed by the Holy Spirit
  2. Submissive in spirit– A person who obeys everything written in Scripture which 2 Timothy 3 summarizes it perfectly

2 Timothy 3:16-17

16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

You must teach the Word of God correctly, rebuke a wayward Christian to bring them back in right standing with the LORD, train them in the Truth [Scripture] alone without adding anything else to it.

If you willfully shrink back from rebuking someone for teaching something that is not truthful, it shows where your heart truly stands.

At the end of the verse, the LORD showers grace to the one who fears His Word. A Christian has to love the Truth and defend it.

In social media, you will encounter countless of false teachers who are there to destroy your faith by convincing you to believe in false doctrine. You will know them by the fruit of their mouth. Remember, whatever comes out of their mouth tells you what fills their heart. If they attack your character and not your teachings is because you are in the truth and they have nothing else to say but will try to stop you from doing God’s will through character assassination. Rejoice and be glad because they did the same to Jesus Christ and the prophets before Him.

False prophets will teach truth mixed with lies so you must be prepared by always being in the Word and in prayer. False Christians will look almost like the genuine article but watch what they say and teach very carefully because what’s in their heart will eventually come to the surface.

If you know someone who is false, separate yourself from them or else you will be like them, spreading false teachings and the Lord will rebuke you. If you love them, you will tell them the truth.

Love the truth, love righteousness, love Jesus and preach the whole counsel of God. Don’t pick and choose.

Do you defend the Truth regardless of the consequences?

  1. I have dealt with several people here on WordPress who claim to believe in Jesus, but they preach a works based salvation which is not found in Scripture and is totally opposed to the truth that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus alone and not by works. It’s sad to see so much legalism. By the way, I read about you on your blog today. Awesome how the Lord delivered you out of being raised with witchcraft! Praise God! I don’t know if you know about my testimony, but before I was saved my family lived with a demon the entire 4 years I was in High School. That was before my family and I were saved and that is why I accepted Christ at age 18 my freshman year in college in 1996. After I accepted Christ, I went back home that Christmas break and rebuked that demon out of our house in the Name of Jesus and we never had trouble like that again. I also had two angel encounters in Denver in the summer of 1998 and in 2012 I stopped breathing, left my body and was with Jesus for a short time, then came back to life in the power of the Holy Spirit (my wife was by my side during the ordeal asking the Lord to bring me back). That is why my book is called, “One Man’s Very Strange Supernatural Life.” You and I have had a supernatural life for sure! Hope all is well with you brother. God bless you!

    1. Excellent comment. That is wonderful what God did in your life. I have a strong passion for the truth as you have noticed. I come out strong sometimes but that is because I care very much for Christians to warn them to be careful with whatever doesn’t line up with the written Word. If I didn’t care at all, I would bend to whatever people said and be their best friend but you and I have to be strong in the Truth and continue as all Christians with the sword in one hand and the shield in the other [the full armor of God].

In the end two things matter.

      1. To encourage people to believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation and
      2. To help them from being deceived and from falling away for a time as true believers cannot lose their salvation but for a short time distance themselves from God.

Thanks for your comment and may the Lord bless you and your family.
