Verse of the Day Q&A: Are You Concerned About The End Times?

Luke 21:34

34 “But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap.

The distractions of the things of this world can cause a believer to be unprepared for the arrival of the End Times even though we are closer than one might think. Regardless, if one believes in the pre-tribulation or the post-tribulation, it would be prudent to heed God’s Word to always be prepared.

  1. Are you prepared if all hell breaks loose?
  2. How much do you study End-Times events?

  1. I found End time events to be truly scary as a little girl and now as an adult and saved (I thank God He opened my eyes), it is still scary but fascinating. As for studying end time events, I probably need to dig deeper but we see a lot of prophecies coming to fruition and what I find to be rampant is the love of self in 2 Timothy 3:2, the love of many growing cold in Matthew 24 in this climate of hatred in our society today, and not to mention all of the massive animal die offs, earthquakes, etc.

As for preparedness, I don’t think anyone can truly prepare for the end of all things. At times we feel like throwing the towel for petty things. How much can the world prepare for something the world has never experienced before?

The good news however is that the Word of God teaches us there is only one step to being prepared and that is accepting Jesus Christ as Savior.

    1. Agree with everything you said but if a Christian is living in carnality he/she will be ashamed when Jesus comes. You are absolutely right that it starts with faith in Jesus Christ but with the continuation in their spiritual growth to maturity. Many, sadly are stagnant in their growth. Thanks for your comment.

I agree and we all struggle with this at some point.

It starts with being indwelt by the Holy Spirit the very moment of true conversion then discerning who and what it is we’re dealing with especially when we fall into carnality- is it mainly the flesh? or is it an external suggestion (by the enemy) and only then can we tackle it accordingly. As for external suggestion, we see this in action oftentimes when we find ourselves rationalizing (like Adam & Eve in the garden) something we think is good but in fact contradict what God said. A good example of this is the Ecumenical Movement- Unity and World peace but at the cost of compromising John 14:6.

        1. The good news is that even though we struggle we have an assurance that God will never abandon us. There are a lot of weeds planted next to flowers to choke its faith away.
