Verse By Verse Through Revelation (3:21-22)

21 The victor: I will give him the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I also won the victory and sat down with My Father on His throne.

“The victor” are those who held to the truth of the gospel and even died for it rather than denying Jesus. They are the ones who will endure to the end according to Philippians 1:6 which says, “6 I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

The phrase “I will give him the right to sit with Me on My throne” means that Jesus will give every believer authority which could be referring to the millennial reign of Christ on earth or in the new heaven and earth.

22 “Anyone who has an ear should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.”

Chapter 3 ends with the importance of really paying close attention to God’s Word as we all should be doing today because the time is very near.

  1. Hi Spaniard,

The whole of the book of Revelation is saturated with the view that Jesus, the lowly sacrificial lamb of God, Is Lord over the universe and that the earthly lord, the Roman Caesar is Not Lord.

The risen Christ is seated on the throne and God reveals his true nature to his servants through John and sends letters to the 7 churches to show them what must soon take place.

He reveals through versus 21-22 that just as God has seated Jesus on the throne, so one day his saints will reign with him.

Thanks for this wonderful post of yours, Spaniard.

    1. Why all of a sudden are you agreeing with me now?

You hate Christians that interpret the Bible literally which you call fundamentalists. It seems like you have an ulterior motive.

  2. Hi Spaniard,

I am now giving priority to exegeting scripture and then developing my theology out of the exegesis, rather than allowing a preconceived theology influence my interpretation of the bible.

Of course, theology influences our interpretation of the bible and our exegesis influences our theology. I am now prioritising exegesis.

  3. Hi Spaniard,
Although I am now prioritising exegesis, exegesis must include the appropriate literary form. e.g The first 11 chapters of Genesis are the literary form of myth,
    John Arthur

    1. Sorry to say John but you have started with an eisegetical understanding of holy scripture instead of an exegesis on Genesis.

To say that the first 11 chapter of Genesis is a myth is calling God a liar which that type of mentality comes from Satan.

      2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, 17
so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
All scripture includes the first 11 chapters of Genesis.

Myth means something that’s untrue or a lie while Jesus said in John 14:6 that He is the Truth. And in the Books of John and Revelation Jesus has the title “the Word of God” so no myth can be found in holy scripture. If you are trying to deceive me by being insincere in actuality you are deceiving yourself and the only one who is getting harmed.

You are still interpreting scripture with bias eyes, it is as clear as day. Your bias has a mixture of new age religion with a sprinkle of atheism.

      1 John 2:21
I have not written to you because you don’t know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie comes from the truth.

No lie or myth can be found in scripture because it is 100% the truth.

      Matthew 19:4
“Haven’t you read,” He replied, “that He who created them in the beginning made them male and female,”

Jesus in Matthew is quoting the Book of Genesis of God creating Adam and Eve because He knew that it wasn’t a myth because it actually happened.

John, you will never know the truth if you continue to interpret the Bible with bias eyes and not really seeking the Lord with a sincere heart. God will only reveal scripture to those who truly want to get to know Him through scripture which contains the truth which is His nature and the person Jesus Christ.

      1. Hi Spaniard,

“Your bias has a mixture of new age religion with a sprinkle of atheism.”

How is there anything “new age” about what I say? The force of love is a personal, relational and social force of compassion, healing mercy and loving-kindness. How is this new age? Don’t “new age” thinkers see God as an impersonal force of love?

Where is the “sprinkling of atheism”?

        John Arthur

        1. New age gets all the so called good things from all religion and make it into New Age religion. Now when I say all I mean the false with the truth. Once you put a drop of poison into a class of water it becomes deadly. That’s what you are preaching John deadly doctrine.

You have atheism in your Biblical understanding because you even confessed that no one can know if God really exist. You have zero faith and preach atheism. By the way myth is something that’s made up meaning that it never happened which makes it a lie period. Look, you are not serious in exegesis at all. Our conversation just keeps going in a circle. I know you are probably boasting to one of your atheists friends how you are making Spaniard go through loops.

Just to let you know I’m done answering your illogical exegesis which is really a eisegesis. Don’t send me anymore questions because I will not post them anymore.

I pray that you will find the Jesus of holy scripture before you meet Him and it would be too late.

    1. Myth means a lie or untruth which Jesus said that He is the truth and no lie or myth is found in Him. So how can God inspire a lie if He is the truth? Satan is the father of lies and the Lord God almighty is the Father and originator of the truth and no lie is found in Him. That kind of thinking is what you call an eisegesis.

  4. To equate the actual account of creation and label it a myth is a clear indication that even when a person constantly asserts to being “Christian” and feign an assent to the teachings of Jesus, their fruit will always testify against their claim- which brings to life what Jesus said, “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.”
