(Study) Jesus Is God

Genesis 1:1

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

In the first verse of the whole Bible, God wants to make it clear that only He is the sole creator of the universe.

Isaiah 44:24

“This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the Lord, the Maker of all things, who stretches out the heavens, who spreads out the earth by myself

Genesis 1:3

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

Through God’s Word, all things visible and invisible was created.

Psalm 33:6

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.

John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

“Word was with God”

The Greek word for “with” is Pros which means: to, towards, with.

The Word was with (towards) God, meaning the Word (Jesus) was face to face with God and then it says the Word (Jesus) was God. God was face to face with a person, Jesus the Word. God was not with an impersonal construct but with a person.

John 1:2-3

2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

Colossians 1:16

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.

One of Jesus’ title is the Word of God which basically means creator (see Genesis 1:3 and Psalms 33:6).

Revelation 19:13

He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.

John 1:14

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:17-18

17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

Genesis 1:26

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Genesis 5:1-2

This is the written account of Adam’s family line. When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God. 2 He created them male and female and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind” when they were created.

Genesis 9:6

“Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind.

“Let Us” in Genesis 1 verse 26 speaks of the Trinity (God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit) because the “Us” created man and only God is the creator.

    1. Thanks, I tried to make a connection as early as possible to show how God revealed Himself as three persons which is difficult to understand fully, but nonetheless, it is taught in the Scripture.

  1. So you do not believe God is an eternal all-knowing, everywhere spirit unchanging invisible being like the Bible tells us but a god who can change like he wants it and does not tell the truth every time people ask him some things?

    1. [Marcus Ampe said] “So you do not believe God is an eternal all-knowing”

Where in my post did I mention that God is not omniscient? Your assertion is preposterous. You are a liar.

The “god” that you have mentioned is the devil who deceives people like you into believing in a different Jesus that cannot save.

God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit never change and are the same. Look at Deut. 6:4, the word one in Hebrew is plural. You can read it in one of my posts: https://spiritualminefield.wordpress.com/2018/11/14/the-trinity/

      1. You seem to forget that Jesus said he did not know when he would return or who would be seated next to him. If he is the all-knowing God then he would have known and as such would not have told the truth. When he says it is only to God to know but would be God than he is misleading his disciples also.

        1. Philippians 2:6 [Emphasis added]
6 who [that is Christ], existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be used for His own advantage.

          Colossians 2:9
9 For the entire fullness of God’s nature dwells bodily in Christ

God who came in the flesh, in the person of Jesus Christ was, is, and will always be God.
Jesus’ knowledge on certain things like His coming was put aside to reflect His human nature, but that does not negate the fact that Jesus never stopped being God.

[Emphasis added] In John 1:1 &14 it declares…
1 In the beginning was the Word [Jesus],
and the Word [Jesus] was with God,
and the Word [Jesus] was God.

14 The Word [Jesus who is God] became flesh
and took up residence among us.
          We observed His glory,
the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father,
          full of grace and truth.

If you like it or not, which doesn’t matter, for the truth will prevail, Jesus Christ is the Living God, the second person of the Godhead.
